VCA is focused on getting as much money out of their customers at the expense of their pets. I said "customers" because they aren't animal hospitals, but a business focused on maximum profit.
For example, I adopted a beautiful little kitten from who had an unknown allergic condition known as Eosinophilic Granulomas. She started bleeding from the mouth one morning, and as a new pet owner, I took her to this VCA, needing emergency vet care.
Their recommendation was to do immediate surgery to remove all of her teeth, and in addition run a battery of tests amounting to more than $600! Luckily I knew about the possibility of this condition and asked for the prednisone medication she needed. They tried to scare me and made me fill out "against medical advice" documents before they would release my cat to me. It felt more like extortion than vet care.
I took my cat to a respectable vet, received the correct medical diagnosis and correct size of prescription. Had VCA removed her teeth, it would have never solved the problem and just caused my beautiful cat massive pain and eating disability.
Speaking to others, VCA has a well known reputation of maximizing their profits over the needs of the pets they "serve". They are ghouls and monsters. Please do not use them.
