Facts of our Subaru purchase:

• Less than 1 week after purchase the check engine light came on. Brought it to our mechanic and they found that the catalytic converter had failed.
• Our mechanic also informed us that the head gasket was leaking.
• A few months after purchase we paid for suspension diagnostics at Les Schwab and they found that the rear rotors and bushings needed to be replaced.

Pretty easy to conclude that they simply reset the maintence light to hide the catalytic converter issue. A reputable dealership would either a) perform a thorough inspection and either fix or disclose the issues listed above or b) stand behind a vehicle they sold without doing a proper inspection.

Would recommend doing a pre-purchase inspection if you are thinking about purchasing a vehicle here.

Response to owner: It is true you sold us a cheap car ($4k). It was also a lemon. Readers can draw their own conclusions based on the facts presented. A pre-purchase inspection is advisable.
