Edit: After posting my initial review, the owner did call me to apologize and with the intention of making things right. I appreciated the quick follow up and concern from him as well as my conversation with him. I would still suggest that you be aware of the use of their barcoding system and have them make a note regarding your preferences before having them handle your clothing.
I was pleased with the quality of their dry cleaning, however, prices are on the higher end and so I expected a bit more in terms of service quality. After picking up my garments and returning home I noticed they heat glued barcodes to each of my items. I have never had a dry cleaner use this system before and from my research is typically done by less expensive, bulk type services. I called to complain and they said I could come in to have them removed so I had to take additional time out of my schedule to go back another day. When I came back they removed the barcodes but the damage was already done to my garments and there is a permanent heat/glue stain on all the tags or fabric which the barcodes where adhered to. Included in my items were a Stella McCartney silk blouse and a pair of Theory pants which they glued directly onto the fabric (pictured). I consider this an unapproved alteration to my items of which was never pre-disclosed to me and totally unacceptable!
The store associate's response to this was that is what we do to all items but we see that it has been noted on your file to not place barcodes in the future. No apology, just this is how we do it. (Edit: The owner called me personally to apologize for the way this was handled, which I appreciated). If this doesn’t bother you and you don’t mind spending a bit more on your dry cleaning then the quality is acceptable. Otherwise, shop around or make sure you let them know no barcodes, especially if you have high end designer items you need cleaned, before you drop off your clothes because they don’t proactively disclose this practice to you.
