I have tried this place before almost 10 years ago. So we decided to gave it another try.
It's still the same nostalgic feel of a family owned restaurant. We ordered the steamed clams, Italian chef salad, the eggplant parmesan, and fettuccine shrimp postano.
The services was fast. Bread came cold. Steamed clams were tiny and more salty than I am used to with ok flavor and no grits (my pet peeve).Salad was refreshing with prosciutto and olives. The eggplant parm was ok without much breading which is ok. The fettuccine was a bit spicy but still good. Just a bit more al dente for my liking.
Overall it was what I remembered with the food experience. Not bad, but nothing to brag about either.
My ABSOLUTE favorite restaurant! I love this place! The ingredients for the pizzas are so fresh! And the carbonara is amazing! The Crema al Limone is so light and fluffy and has such a bright burst of lemon flavor! Their minestrone soup is literally the standard by which I judge all other minestrone soup.
SO disappointed! I'd just gotten in from a long flight (10/17/24) and my ride and I were looking forward to a great Italian meal - but the service was SO POOR we walked out!
Had to wait for the hostess who finally emerged from the kitchen area - she quickly sat us as there were many open tables and brought bread and water. And then we sat for longer than 20 minutes without another acknowledgement from anyone. The restaurant had customers - but only 50-60% of tables were occupied, and most tables with guests already had their food.
If they'd have at least taken our drink order would have helped - but not even a nod of the head or a walk by our table? Horrible. We won't be back.
