We had a 10 month old German Shepherd, Lincoln, who was out of control. He was eating everything we owned, fear aggressive to strangers, dog-aggressive and would jump on anyone who attempted to walk in our house. We have dog experience and training experience but nothing prepared us for this rambunctious puppy. We went to Paul at Von Dubinhaus Shepherd rescue and have had a very positive experience.
Lincoln is now almost 2 years old and he can walk on a leash by my side calmly, he does not jump on anyone, and his other negative behaviors have almost completely stopped. We paid for the board and train program that Paul offers and Lincoln went to Paul for 2 months. We came once to twice a week to work on training with Lincoln and Paul. We paid for the lifetime training so I try and go weekly to Paul's with Lincoln to work on socialization with other dogs.
Paul is available by texting and responds quickly. His organization is run from his home and it does need some repairs and clean up but it has improved greatly since I first started going there. His focus is always on the dogs. The dogs love him and Lincoln gets very excited every time we pull up to his house. I trust my dog's instincts and he adores Paul.
Paul is picky about who his dogs go to, in an attempt to find them a LASTING home. He has to take many dogs back from people who are ill-prepared for them.
He is very blunt and straightforward with his words and easily misunderstood but he is 100% there for the dogs. I get along with him well and he is not afraid to tell me when I am doing something wrong with Lincoln that could increase his behaviors. Some people may be put off by this but he is saying it for the benefit of your pet.
All in all, I trust Paul with my most prized possession, my sweet boy Lincoln. Paul has helped us keep him in our family and for that I will always be grateful. I look forward to continue working for him in the future.
My husband and I have been training with Paul for a few months. Our German Shepherd puppy has some moderate anxiety and OCD issues that we needed some professional help for, and we are so lucky to be working with Paul. In the time we have been training with him, he has helped us get our puppy's anxiety/OCD under control to the point of her sweet personality coming back up to the surface and we are actually able to train her!
He is very responsive for questions in between our training sessions, and very flexible on his availability for training sessions. He has many years of experience and is friendly and easy to work with. My husband and I would highly recommend Paul for training German Shepherds or any other dog breed!!
