I had reservations at 6pm and if you know you know that wait time at this time are a bit longer then usual and on a grand opening, but it was definitely worth it! I’ve been to a fair share of Steak Houses and by far I could say the quality, size and taste of the tomahawk here was amazing. My wife ordered a Matrimonio de Mar y Tierra and were surprised on the size of the steak and a whole lobster for the price, I was very impressed!! Our server kay was very attentive and stopped at out table periodically to checkin on us, We also had visits from the owners to checkin and ask if everything was up to our satisfaction, and it definitely was! We will definitely be come back!!
My husband and I recently had the pleasure of dining at the first Hmong-owned restaurant in Washington. We had set a dinner reservation on a week day. Upon seating, the owner stopped at our table to welcome us in. He explained the menu and pointed out a few special Hmong inspired dishes from the menu.
For context, my husband and I are Hmong. We recently moved here from Minnesota where there is a fairly large group of Hmong people and restaurant/ food scenes.
For appetizers we decided to order the aguachile and roasted bone marrow. The aguachile was zesty and perfectly balanced. It was refreshing and packed with flavor. The bone marrow came out nice and hot- buttery and melt in your mouth.
For the main course, I opted for the "Vue sausage”. It was bursting with a rich blend of spices that reminded me of home. My husband ordered the “30 day dry age ribeye”. It was juicy and cooked to perfection. He said it was one of the best steaks he has ever had. Each of our entrees were paired with a side of herbed seasonal veggies and a side of their “wild grains” rice. They even had a homemade Hmong spicy chili dipping sauce for each entree- the owner made sure we had extra since we love spice!!
Not only was the food outstanding, but the service was also top-notch. The staff is incredibly attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. They took the time to share the cultural significance of the dishes, which added a personal touch to the dining experience.
This restaurant is a must-visit for anyone in Washington looking to explore authentic Hmong/ Mexican cuisine. With phenomenal food, exceptional service, and a warm, welcoming environment… we can't wait to return with friends and try more of their delicious dishes!
