Worst pharmacy I have dealt with in decades.
Wife and I had appointments for Thursday afternoon, originally, to get COVID boosters. They called Thursday morning and said they had run out of product, and that we would need to reschedule. Okay. These things happen. So I rescheduled, and today we arrived at 2:50 for my 3:00 appointment; wife's was at 3:15, so based on my previous booster shots, I figured I would get mine, maybe a few minutes early, and then she would get hers right around her 3:15 appointment, and we would get on with our day.
I left at 3:45, without having received my booster shot. Wife and dog had been sitting in the car together all this time.
Why would they be so incompetent? Hard to say. Their computer systems seemed incredibly slow. The woman working the computer system complained about her password having been reset without her knowledge. In the near hour I was there, only a single person received a shot, and some people had been sitting there waiting when I got there, and were still waiting when I left.
I've had two boosters, both at CVSs -- one in Riverside, one in Santa Clarita. Neither took more than ten minutes.
We'll try CVS next. No more Walgreens.
Note: referring specifically to the pharmacy. I was unfortunate enough to be one of their customers in the past but I broke free and went to palco, and now that they are shut down I had to deal with Walgreens again.
I absolutely loathe this place. By far the worst place to get your meds filled. Count on spending an hour in the drive through or in their lobby it doesn’t matter which you do. Assume that if you have three meds called in you might get 1 they actually have. Assume they will be unhelpful and uncooperative when there’s an issue and will invent ways to be make it as difficult as possible. Assume that you will be treated as an inconvenience to them at every visit.
Yesterday had the worker say “are you sure you really need this medication today? We are really busy” when I was desperate for an antibiotic. And even after wasting 2 hours waiting for them I still had to come back the next day. Next day the slapped me with “I have no record of the prescription” even though I had talked to the person the night before about it.
I hate this place with a passion. I hate that my health and well being is forcibly tied to a place that doesn’t care or even have the curtesy to try to be helpful.
And now with palco shut down and automatically transferring all of us to Walgreens I have no choice to return to them like the slug they see their customers as.
If I could wish bankruptcy on one business in the entire world it would be this specific Walgreens for their incompetence, arrogance and rudeness. No one should voluntarily give them business in my opinion. And if you have any other choice, do that.
Very good people working at the store. The pharmacy struggles to keep up. They work their tails off. I do not expect them to be on the phone for hours to resolve my personal medication issues. If anything, do the groundwork and give them info and a number they can call to ascertain your personal issue. Vaccines have increased their work load. Overall i am happy with the service. Treat the staff with respect and patience and one usually gets the same back. Thanks for all you do for us, the Barkers. Vanessa was a big loss. I have not be killed yet.
