The permitting department is a complete joke. 4+ Weeks for a simple permit. All the other counties and cities are half the time with less help.

I am a home owner and do it your selfer. I have submitted a couple building permits over the years for small structures and a house this year. Dealing with inspectors and the related permits can be frustrating at times, but if you do your research and ask lots of questions, the staff is reasonable to deal with and patient when you make a mistake.
