Walmart in general simply irks me. Being followed by security simply on profiling gets to be old, really fast. This store, however, had been super awesome about NOT sending their "undercover" shoppers to watch my every move - until a week or so ago. My husband, our 4½ mo old daughter, and I went in to get some Totes for our winter coats. It was probably 45 minutes to closing when we arrived so we shopped as quickly as we could. We use the self-checkout as often as we're able to because we'd rather avoid small talk - husband's personal preference. This trip was no different. There's a Cashier here that I kinda clicked with on a few previous trips, and she was there on the night in discussion. She very politely asked if she could see inside our Totes, kindly asked to see the receipt regarding a couple of small things inside, (which of course, had been scanned and paid for), and complimented our daughter and how adorable she is. Then, as we were getting through the "alarm" area to go out the doors, a young man who seemed very perturbed, rudely stated that he needed to see our receipt and proceeded to COUNT OUT LOUD each and every item in our cart. When he asked about the very same items inside our tote that the previous employee had already verified? Well, that was that. My husband grabbed our receipt back and walked out the door. As I started to follow, the young employee tried to stop me saying he HAD to verify, it was company policy, etc. I kindly turned to him and said, "I would appreciate it if you could refrain from profiling my family and me. Also, I happen to know Walmart's policies, as I used to work for them, and I don't appreciate you lying to me." I then wished him a grand evening and we left the parking lot with steam coming out of our ears! We have since been back and thankfully things have stayed as they were in the beginning. I would definitely go out of the way to visit this Walmart over any other in the area.
We all understand we go to Walmart because it's convenient and somewhat affordable. This is my problem prices are going up, I have paid for 100 reusable bags to help save on more plastic waist but and I say this with a big BUT why if I'm bringing in bag's saving them money am I the one bagging my groceries??? I didn't realize Walmart was becoming Winco. If that's the case you might want to pay employee's better with the money y'all are saving from me doing the work for you. So I paid to give Walmart free labor sounds fair 😁 Thank you and you are very welcome Walmart
