It's been almost a month since I had my first cut & highlight at the Wash House Salon and I am still loving it. The owner (and only stylist), Melissa, took one look at my thick but fine (therefore, limp), one-length, straight, unflattering blah haircut and immediately knew how to give me what I wanted from photos I brought in. I hadn't liked my hair for such a long time. After sitting in the chairs of countless hairstylists, I know a good one when I come across one and I knew it when I saw her use such precision to give me layers and not just randomly cutting in with thinning shears. Additionally, in my experience, a precision cut means not having to go in as often for maintenance. Melissa charges "Seattle prices", BUT she's got the eye of an artist, the experience and the Vidal Sassoon training backing that up and it shows in what she turns out of that salon. Who knew I had enough natural wave to be able to just wash my hair, scrunch it while drying it, and be done with it and still look good? And I can still wear it in a straight bob, if I want. I'm thrilled that she's come to our little town!

The Wash House is a beautiful salon, but more important, Melissa Pursley's skill is off the charts! I've sat in hundreds of chairs, paid top $, tried new ideas, colors and trends and had varied results, but I am THRILLED with my style and color now. I'm happy to pay a little more for the quality and service at Wash House Salon and I would strongly recommend Melissa to anyone who wants GREAT HAIR!

Melissa is a true artist, and has been cutting my hair for the past 15 years. She is gifted and creative, and always listens to what I want, then let's me know how she can make at least a version of that work with the hair that I actually have ;-) Additionally, the actual salon is gorgeous and relaxing.
