I am soooo sorry I enrolled my daughter in this joke! There are so many road blocks! It’s not worth the trauma that she’s getting by being completely unsupported and ignored and pushed aside. My list of issues: Teachers cancel Live Lessons, so they don’t get to engage in understanding concepts. teachers often are non responsive to kiddos reaching out for help. I was copied on an email she sent and turns out the teacher had quit! Teachers use A LOT of pre recorded lessons as a tool to “teach” children. The turn around we’ve went thru 5!!! Teachers that’s excessive! And frankly offensive!
You’re not only the coach but the teacher, tutor everything with limited support unless you send an email and wait days for a response. Which only consists of someone summarizing your email and apologizing for the difficulty you’ve been through and no problem solving.
Tutoring, my daughter waited five!!!! FIVE HOURS with their BS tutor system and the teacher has the audacity to tell me we just have to wait in line. I’ve reached out for help myself to help guide her and typically they just reply back with FAQ link to figure it out… thanks
Teachers will not let kids in, if the live classroom is full. Which means kiddos that have conflicting schedules such as Math at 11a and then language arts at 1130 you have to pick one, which means again you have to skip the live lesson and opt out for a prerecorded lesson with zero interaction again with teacher, by interacting I mean teacher support, asking question, working on things with a group.
I’ve contacted the state to file a complaint because all of these issues don’t seem consistent or at all possible in an educational system to hold so many biases and road blocks… there is no human connection, as a parent who works with a team of people across the nation, we have a better teaching model than what this WCA could ever wish for. Prior to this my daughter loved being chalet I feel that she regressed. I was able to get free tutoring help at our high school, and after speaking with the principal it’s best for her I be back at a real school!
This system is only successful for kids that learn independently and don’t need a “teacher” for support. I’ve started my enrollment for her back into our district and frankly I look forward to having my support not only as a parent but as someone who’s invested in supporting all children! This is a very broken system, they can’t even maintain enough teachers, we went through 3 counselors, 5 teachers and my daughter has now started regressing emotionally and educationally! Please do not send your children here unless they are super independently can learn with out any one person trying to “teach” them.
