I hit 2 deer at the same time, demolishing the whole front end and drivers side fender, also taking out the horn, air conditioning, and radiator. Full coverage insurance paid Wayne's Body Shop to fix the damage. The overall brokeness of my Highlander was fixed; however, it was done very poorly.
The fenders do not match up to the car, let alone to each other (Drivers side ~ one end flush, like it should be, the other end sticking up/out 1/4 inch or so. Passenger side ~ flush in the middle but protruding out on both ends). Which also means the space between the hood and fenders has a huge gap in some areas and a little gap in others, again not matching up to the other side. The new drivers side headlight assembly does not sit correctly because of the mismatch.) The undercarriage is noticeably longer on passenger side. The brand new paint job he did, has missing areas (missing a coat or two), chips and runs the day I picked up my car. He only replaced one headlight assembly, so now the drivers side is extremely bright and the passenger side is extremely dull due to the old plastic, the brand new yellow night light bulb (not the blinker) in the drivers side headlight assembly was not replaced and does not work as it burned out upon collision. The original Toyota Highlander bug guard was not broken or cracked but it was replaced with an ugly after market cheap bug guard that looks ridiculous, although the quote was for ALL Toyota parts (which I wanted, since I already had them). The air-conditioning was not fixed properly as the passenger side will work but the drivers side will blow warm/hot air. The 1st couple times it happened I played with the knob and banged around until it started working, but doing that only worked about 3 times. We looked up the issue online and it suggested that it just needed more freeon, even though he put a brand new air-conditioner in and charged a lot of money to fill up the freeon. We added more but that only fixed the issue for 3 days and the drivers side quit working again (of course during the hottest time of summer.) I finally figured out, if I did not turn it on full blast, then the light blowing air would be cold, but hardly blowing out.
As the check was being signed over to Wayne's Body Shop in the office. I was out wanting to admire the wonderful job that was done, but instead, I was discovering the body problems. When I questioned about the paint, he replied that he could "give" me a little jar of touch-up paint. {Oh gee, thanks, but that won't redo the whole area}
