After experiencing a pinched nerve in my neck (from a poor posture working on my laptop) which resulted as numbness, tingling and a shooting pain all the way down to my left thumb for over a month, I was encouraged by a friend to schedule a treatment with Paula.
As a 47 year old man who enjoys swimming, hiking, and nature based activities it was nearly impossible to take even a short walk in my neighborhood without serious discomfort. Being unable to concentrate and to focus while working with my clients became a serious concern.
The worse was to think that I would need to get corrective surgery or to have to get corticosteroid injections to function normally again. I'm not interested operations or long term pain medication regiments.
During our first session Paula asked me questions in order to understand the ideal approach she would to use from her series of techniques in order to help me help myself heal from this as quickly as possible. After our interview, she had me recline face down on her table and began the treatment.
Although I'd only known about "cupping" from watching a program about Micheal Phelps during the Olympics, she told me that this process, along with a gentle massage on my neck, shoulders, and back could be beneficial in my case.
After three massage and two cupping sessions, along with the stretching exercises she recommended I do daily between sessions, I'm writing this review with a much improved posture, a tremendous amount of flexibility in my neck and upper spine, and only the slightest of occasional neck tightness which is almost immediately re-mediated once I do the suggested stretches.
It's been just about a month since the first session and I am now able to walk 4-6 miles without any pain, to sit and work on my computer, and to return to focusing on my physical fitness.
If you dread losing your youthful levels of energy and activity -- and dislike the idea of drugs or surgery, this might be something worth investing in. Paula, you really did open up the wellspring of health within me. Thank you very much!
