With my daughter I had a pretty traumatic C section. I knew that if I ever had any more kids that I would want a home birth. I found Laura and as soon as I met her I felt comfortable with her. She gave me so much information and answered all my questions throughout my pregnancy and even still now in my post partum. I had really bad anxiety during pregnancy and even though I knew a home birth was what I wanted I had doubts in myself. Laura really helped me feel confident that I could do it and I did! I couldn't have done it without her, I really believe that. The whole time she assured me that I was doing well and making progress. Even though it was a really intense experience and I sometimes wish that it wasn't so hard she made me feel better and like I was capable. It was the most amazing experience of my life and I'm so thankful for Laura. She was totally fine with doing a home birth in our tiny house which was a relief too. She was supportive of me being vegan throughout my pregnancy also which was nice because the midwives I had during my first pregnancy were skeptical. Laura encapsulated my placenta for me and even dehydrated my sons umbilical cord and shaped it into a heart and tied it to the jar of placenta capsules. I love it and think it is a really nice extra thing and I can keep it forever now. Honestly I'm kind of sad that my time with her is coming to an end. I can't say enough good things about Laura. She really helped me achieve the most amazing experience of my life and I will forever be grateful for her. I highly recommend anyone who wants a midwife in kitsap county to go to Laura.

I couldn't be happier with Laura's level of professionalism and respect for me as a mother to be. My intentionally drug free hospital birth with my first son was a sad experience that left me feeling defeated and remembering every detail vividly for months as it was laced with stress and negativity. My home birth with has only two vivid memories one of her reassuring voice and the second memory is of feeling my sons soft head and trying to figure out if I was going to try to catch him or not. The rest is a soft happy haze. I would recommend Laura based on her excellent recommendations on natural methods of caring for yourself and baby during and after pregnancy, her passion for providing excellent care to her clients, her professional but warm demeanor and that she supports you in giving birth (she doesn't just get your baby out for you because she thinks you are incapable of doing it yourself.)
