Our son had 4 words at 2 yrs old when we first came to see Rachel . By the end of the yr he was near his peers . She’s enthusiastic, patient , and extremely in tune with the individual needs of the child . I cannot say enough good things about Rachel at westbound !

I find it so rare to watch someone at work and think, "Wow, this person was made for this job", but that is exactly how I have felt about Rachel from day one. We met her just prior to the pandemic, when she was working for a private practice. My daughters speech improved by leaps and bounds what felt like almost immediately with Rachel, which was amazing enough. After Rachel moved on from that practice, we stayed and tried a few more therapists there, but my daughter's advancement slowed to the point that we ultimately ended up quitting. It's not that the therapists working there were bad - I feel that Rachel just has a quality that can't be learned - she genuinely cares for her clients, and it shows in everything she does. If I've come to her with a question or concern, or even in tears because of a negative experience COMPLETELY outside of speech therapy that had NOTHING to do with her job, this amazing woman has taken time out of her life to listen to me, and I can't think of a time where she didn't find the perfect solution, or answer to my question, or just have something encouraging to say. She helps connect us to outside resources I had previously been unaware of, and gives me guidance to structure things in a way that will uniquely benefit my daughter. You just can't fake that quality of care. Children pick up on that. All 3 of my young ones look forward to seeing "Rachel and her awesome toys" and showing her things they've learned.. and even though only one of my children are actual clients, Rachel always warmly welcomes them all into her office while still maintaining admirable focus on my daughter and her growth & needs - not just anyone can multitask like that! I could sit here all night and never find enough wonderful things to say about Rachel and the phenomenal work that she does, and I am SO thankful she's decided to open her own practice. I don't know if this was the specific career she had in mind when she set out, but I can't imagine anyone better suited for the job, and if you're concerned about your child's development and just want to have an evaluation done? After years of therapy with my own daughter, I feel at least vaguely qualified to say, you couldn't find a better person to help you navigate your options with. Thank you for all you do, Rachel!
