"Professional" isn't measured by the appearance of the place, but by the attention and expertise of the staff. Robert has done a great job putting together exercise equipment in a low-rent space that works well. He keeps close tabs on every client, I mean, athlete he trains; there is a paper folder that he consults during the workouts to record the assigned exercises. He or his well-trained assistants (including Arya, the labradoodle) are on hand to make sure that the movements are correct, don't lead to injury, and help move toward your own fitness goals. My goals: strength and flexibility; in four weeks, I've moved pretty far along that spectrum. If you want a glitzy place with beautiful views and shiny new machines, this is not for you: the equipment is on a rundown-looking porch (sturdy, not pretty); the yard hasn't been watered in years; the neighbors look like they just moved from eastern Kentucky. But the attention to your exercise needs and the coaching is topnotch, and the daily banter alone is worth the price of entry.
