Dr. Sheafor is incompetent! I went in the second week of February with a severely swollen, injured, and possibly torn achilles tendon on my right foot. During the consultation he said that if nothing showed up in the x-ray, then he would order an MRI. After the examination, he sent me down the street to get an X-ray. A few days later, I received call that there was no results from the x-ray (which he said was very likely to happen) and sent me straight to physical therapy. (NO MRI).
THREE MONTHS LATER, in May, my physical therapist suggested I call Dr. Sheafor back to get a check up because my healing process was taking longer than what they were used to. After trying to reach Dr. Sheafor multiple times, the receptionist told me that Dr. Sheafor can refer me to an Orthopedic surgeon but cannot see me again because it was "out of his hands." Now middle of June, I have tried calling back demanding I get an MRI and he once again refused to see me and even speak with me on the phone, instead had his receptionist relay information to me.
I have been on crutches going on FIVE months now and still have not received an MRI. So in other words, Dr. Sheafor "diagnosed" my injury based off optimism and nothing else, he also went back on his word because I never got an MRI like planned in the consultation. DO NOT COME HERE.
UPDATE: I have been to Urgent Medical Care, demanded to get an MRI after the bs for months and discovered I need to see an orthopedic surgeon to plan surgery. IF Sheafor diagnosed me correctly the FIRST time and requested an MRI, I would more than likely be four months into the healing process post-surgery for my tendon and not finding this out NOW, almost FIVE MONTHS later.
