I did place a complaint with the store front manager. Not sure if anything will be done about this incident so I am putting it out here as well hoping this will count as an official complaint. I have never been so embarrassed my whole life and I am 50.
Tuesday 10/08/24, 11 - 11.15 am: I am at the self check out minding my own business. Scanning and bagging my groceries. Then I hear screaming behind me. A woman yelling “HEY HEY” I didn’t even think it was directed at me. Then she gets louder “ HEY ARE YOU GOING TO SCAN THOSE?” At this point I turn around and I see the store employee LAUREN looking at me and screaming from further away , mind you she is the cashier scanning other customers items. This was about 3 or 4 avocados I put in the bag directly since you don’t weight those but instead enter the quantity in the system. I wasn’t even there yet when from afar this high quality lady decided to blame me of stealing. I turn around, while everyone in the store is witnessing this, told her “these are avocados, I don’t need to weigh them”…. Instead of an apology, she said “ok” and went on with her cashier duties. As you can imagine, I was shaking the rest of the time I was finishing my shopping, couldn’t believe what just happened. I spent $215 there today. Do I look like someone that will steal? I have no clue. I am a mom of 2 who went out to buy some groceries in a hoodie and shorts. lol.
After I am done , I calmly walk to the customer service and then place a complaint about “LAUREN”. Yes I saw her name tag. Did the manager say sorry, yes he did. Did he talk to her? No idea. Are there any consequences for LAUREN to treat a customer in such disrespectful manner and blame her of stealing in front of other customers? I truly hope so. But from the way he didn’t want me address the situation immediately, or offered me anything to make it right, I am guessing NO.
I had no idea Whole Foods was turning into low quality Walmart and I will not be stepping into that store until I know something was done.
