Beware of Woodland Christian Church in Woodland, WA. I am a former member who attended from 2016 to 2023. You can read my full review of WCC on their Facebook page.
I believe that all four elders are disqualified for ministry per Titus 1:7. One of the deacons is a slanderer and backbiter, and is self-condemned per Titus 3:10-11. None of these men, including their wives, have any business offering counseling. It is my opinion that all of these men should step down from ministry and receive counseling until sufficient repentance and self-reflection has taken place. Best of providence to them.
"My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment." (James 3:1)
Edit: I can only assume that the response below is from Scott Lapierre, the lead "pastor", as he's repeating the same false "summary" of the situation to cover-up WCC's ungodly and abusive behavior. Sorry, Scott, the review is staying up. You don't intimidate me, and thank you for revealing more of your character for the world to see.
My family and I have been attending WCC since 2019. I was a teenager at the time. Immediately, we were impressed by the clear, straightforward preaching style and the leadership’s desire to preach what is actually IN the Bible and not just skipping over the challenging or controversial parts. The first thing that I noticed when attending is the overall “old fashioned/traditional” feel. Our church sings mostly hymns and some modern worship songs. If you are looking for a church where the music is all modern or more of a concert feel, this is probably not the church for you. The songs have Biblical and beautiful lyrics that rely on the Holy Spirit to move you, NOT the quality of sound or performance/presentation.
We have made so many amazing friendships over our years at WCC. It took a little time to get to know people (like with any church), and once we got involved/joined groups, game nights, the choir, etc, that really helped. We quickly felt like a part of the family!
This church has been there for my family in hard times. Our pastor and and his wife are amazing, and I clearly see the love they have for their own children and the entire congregation. I am so grateful to know that if we ever need guidance, they are there for us.
