We recently visited Yard House. The restaurant was busy but not overcrowded. We ordered Tuna Sandwiches and Korean Ribeye Steak. After a long wait with no food in sight, we realized 35 minutes had passed since our order. The waitress initially checked on us once but was absent for a considerable time thereafter.
When she finally returned, we asked her to check on our order, as we were considering canceling at that point. She apologized for the delay, explaining that sometimes orders get held up in the kitchen, and assured us the food would be expedited, ready in 5-7 minutes.
The Tuna Sandwiches were delicious, but the Korean Ribeye Steak was too sweet for my taste. However, waiting 45 minutes for our meal was unacceptable, as time is precious. Though it was a leisure evening, we had planned to visit two stores in Santana Row but couldn't due to the delay, which extended past store hours.
Despite our disappointment, we still left a tip for the waitress. We shared our feedback with the manager, expressing our dissatisfaction with the experience. While I understand that issues can arise, it's crucial to address them properly when they occur. In my opinion, their service and response both fell short.
The Yard House at Santana Row is a solid choice for a casual dining experience. The service is top-notch, earning a perfect 5.0 rating. The staff is attentive, ensuring a pleasant and smooth dining experience. Poke Nacho The poke nacho was a standout starter. The crispy wontons paired perfectly with the fresh tuna poke, creamy avocado, and spicy sriracha aioli. The combination of textures and flavors was a hit with everyone at the table.
Half Chicken BBQ and Buffalo Bone-In Wings The half chicken BBQ was tender and juicy, with a barbecue sauce that balanced sweetness and tanginess. The buffalo bone-in wings provided a spicy kick that was well-received, especially with the accompanying celery sticks and blue cheese dressing.
20 oz Ribeye Steak The 20 oz ribeye steak was a highlight for the meat lovers in our family. Grilled to perfection, it was flavorful and tender. The sides we chose—grilled broccoli, fries, mashed potatoes, and spicy beef noodles—complemented the steak wonderfully. The grilled broccoli had a nice charred flavor, the fries were crispy, the mashed potatoes were creamy, and the spicy beef noodles added an exciting heat element.
Spicy Beef Noodles The spicy beef noodles were a pleasant surprise. The noodles were cooked to the right texture, and the beef was tender and well-seasoned. The dish had a good level of spiciness that added a nice kick without being overwhelming. The combination of flavors and the generous portion size made it a favorite among the family.
Brussels Sprouts The brussels sprouts were expertly roasted with caramelized edges, making them crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The savory dipping sauce added an extra layer of flavor that everyone enjoyed. Overall, the Yard House at Santana Row delivers a satisfying dining experience with its excellent service, comfortable atmosphere, and tasty food.
