Not proactive in patient care, they will wait for symptoms to worsen before giving a referral. Dr. Unruhs team shows lack of care- specifically Vanessa. I was left a voicemail that based on my symptoms, Im possibly having a miscarriage- the at home test was negative, I have an IUD, and I’ve never been pregnant before. That voicemail felt way out of line and inappropriate. Vanessa also put sentences into the patients notes that I didn’t say and she also did not document in that conversation that even if I did get a referral- per Vanessa, “it’s booked out months so it’s not like you’d be seen soon anyways” she also marked me as “no longer a patient of yfm” when that was not told to me or even discussed in the conversation so I’m left without care three weeks before we move with ongoing pain and issues.
The last time I had issues, I never got a call after bloodwork to discuss or even a follow up call. I saw the notes but they were simple “normal” type comments. Vanessa put it on me that I should have called the dr to follow up and ask questions when the dr told me I would be getting a call. Blaming the patient for your lack of due diligence is inappropriate.
I went to the urgent care who did way more than Unruhs team and it turns out I had cysts rupturing. I do not feel as though this facility is practicing proactively and I am incredibly disheartened at the lack of care and my issues being dismissed in such a manner by Vanessa.
I will be placing a complaint to the medical board as well as the Tricare health system.
Edit: it’s been 9 months since this instance and I still think about the voicemail left. I know that might be dramatic but telling someone that they are possibly having a miscarriage is a big statement to leave with a patient and leaves lasting affects. I carry a lasting fear that I may miscarry in the future when my family is choosing to grow.
