I am not someone who usually writes reviews but this experience wasn't it. I was stoked to get my haircut by Hu because his vibe and craft looked gas! I moved to SF recently so finding a good barber that I can trust with my hair has been a mission. I finally thought I found someone who I could go to regularly but nah, that won't be the case.
Entering his shop, I was instantly greeted with an unwelcoming and dismissive vibe. When I tried showing him reference pictures of what I wanted, he sorta brushed me off and never took the time to understand what would or wouldn't work for my head shape. The haircut felt quick, rushed, and was not even close to what I had asked/showed him (mid-skin drop fade). I was left with no shape, choppy taper, and when asked to shave the sides down to the skin; he looked irritated and still couldn't do what I asked for. I sat in silence for the rest of the cut cause I was just baffled by the whole experience. The comment that he made which threw me off was when he told me "my cuts will get better with time". Understandably true but that's a whole lot of time and money that I definitely don't have. Especially for an $80 haircut.
My cut was on August 5th. The very same day, I quickly had to find someone who could fix my haircut. Barbers were just as baffled as I was. It was that bad.
