- Broth is meh. I've had better Szechuan-style broth at generic Chinese hotpot places
- Prep is all over the place - none of the mushrooms with chewy stems (shiitake!) had had them removed, I got several pieces of seafood that still had small gritty bits of shell/scales on them, I got a shrimp that had a nasty taste like the poo pipe was still inside it
- Concept doesn't quite work - some things were overcooked (meat and fish), some were undercooked (yam, lotus root)
- Budget vibe but prices are high, we spent over 35 per person, which is excessive since the quality isn't there

Decent food, shady tip pressuring (one worker literally took back the scanner to demand a tip, and he stands over you like a hawk watching your tip). Considering it's self serve, that kind of entitlement is crazy. Other workers are chill and respectful, hopefully they and the chefs get the tip instead. Sadly, I kind of have to give it 1 star because that kind of tip pressuring is insane to me AT A SELF SERVE PLACE.

I’ve been back 4 times now and the food is always terrific. Most recently, i had the manager cancel my transaction since he’d decided that I didn’t tip enough. He demanded that I “put the tip in” and then allowed me to leave. Please do some front of the house training. What am i even tipping for? Everything here is self serve.
