I moved from East Coast to California and the reason I chose 2BL was because they provided furnished studios. Although the apartment was really great and as pictured, the management is the worst I have dealt with ever. After all the paperwork and payments were made there was no information provided on when and how do I collect keys or move in until the day I actually showed up at the apartment. They had issues with Latch system wherein my house could unlock on my neighbors phone and vice versa which is absolutely never acceptable. They took two days to fix it and later after my move in, I was told by my neighbor that there was someone else living in my unit for fours days before my move in. That being said was the case when I had already signed my lease and made all the payments and I was the tenant for the unit.
After move-in as well, there have been multiple cases of mismanagements and delays. For every time I contact the management, I get routed to a different "manager" at 2BL. I was not provided my garage key for a month after I made the payments. When I follow up after no response, I get contacted by a new manager and everyone states that they are "busy" and have more important tasks to take care of. This has been the case with my fellow neighbors as well.
At last now when I decide to move out, again after finding my replacement and taking the necessary steps in lease transfer, they mess up on payments and delays the communication.
I would absolutely give 0 stars and do not recommend this management company. They need to actually listen and respond to current tenants rather than just lure new ones.
100% we recommend 2B Living to all our Bay Area friends and colleagues! Thank you Vincent for being the best property manager! Management cares about tenant happiness, and the organization is legit! We lived at the Sequoia. There are so many scamming property companies in Berkeley and we are so glad we chose 2B Living because not only was our apartment beautiful and renovated with no underlying issues, but property management took care of all our needs, allowed us to break the lease with no extra fees (we paid the remaining two months of rent we owed from our lease), and refunded our security deposit since we cared for the apartment and only left wear and tear. This should be the usual policy for property management companies, but unfortunately we’ve experienced much worse treatment and have to say 2B Living rises above the rest! (They even paint the walls a nice color, not landlord-special-white! 😅)
