My in-laws organized a family reunion across multiple states and searched high & low for a space that would hold the bulk of our family(14 guests ranging from 5-75 years old). Luckily we found this home and we’re able to book a 4 night stay. We arrived late Wednesday afternoon and parked in the back parking lot. This lot allows you to enter through the beautiful garden, which greets you the softest floral fragrance. We entered through the back door which has a keypad for keyless entry.
The home decor/furniture/furnishings are decorated like an English cottage BnB; different than my style preference, but everything was well maintained and comfortable. Oddly enough they placed some unexpected items in the main areas (foosball table and arcade game which all ages loved). Only the first level bedrooms have TVs, the old box kind with VCR added, and the living room has a large smart TV for viewing. The host had a cabinet full of VHS tapes which was a fun throwback and opportunity to share some classic movies with the kids.
The 2nd level has the bulk of the themed bedrooms with cute signage on the doors to identify the rooms. Rooms were clean and spacious; the beds were very comfortable and rooms accommodated sitting areas plus additional bed or bunk bed. What I loved most about the property is that each room has an en suite. No need to share bedroom or bathroom.
The kitchen was well equipped with cookware, utensils, appliances (blender, toaster, crockpot, instapot), etc. and dining room was a huge plus in this house because it easily accommodated our large party; perfect space for family breakfast/dinner. The beautiful garden also had many seating and entertainment areas. We enjoyed sitting in the gazebo and playing corn hole on the lawn. Also appreciated that there was an outdoor bathroom available next to garden/laundry room before you entered the house.
We unfortunately encountered a small then more major issue; first issue was with 1 of 3 fridges in the kitchen and the host John promptly responded with a solution (extra fridge available in garden room); it was a life saver because in addition to having a large group staying there, we also had the rest of our extended family (15+) joining us for a holiday dinner. Then we had a clogged toilet/flooding situation which he handled so swiftly. Once informed, John immediately jumped on the line, and asked if he could come in person to access the situation and assist with cleaning up the water. We were was so grateful for the swift communication, kindness and consideration for us as guests. John wanted to address the issues but not inconvenience is in any way. Truly a pleasure meeting him!
Last feature to highlight is how close the property is to Grover & Pismo State Beaches. Had a lovely stay overall and happy to recommend to family, friends, anyone looking to house a bunch of folks.
