Updated* Update is below initial text. Also I updated grammer in the initial text.
OLD PART Bought my used f150 on March 19th, and the buying experience was near perfect. They didn't push me to buy, but they helped me along the processes and answered all my questions.
The truck has been very nice and I'm pleased with my purchase.
However, 2 nights after I bought the truck, a check engine light came on. So I called up Advantage Auto and told them about the situation and asked if there was anything they could do. They responded, saying they would talk to their GM and have him get back to me. Fast forward 5 days, and I hadn't received a call back, so I called again to give them the benefit of the doubt just in case my request got lost or something. The same exact thing happens. They told me they would tell their GM, and he would get back to me. Never received a call. One week later, I called again, and the exact same thing happened again. I would drive to the dealer. However, I'm very busy, and the dealer is too far away for me to just make a trip out.
After I waited almost 3 weeks, I went to an independent repair ship to get the code diagnosed, and they said I would need the timing chain replaced, which runs almost $4000.
For context, I did buy "as is," but to not even return a call and explain why they couldn't do anything would have gone a long way for customer satisfaction.
UPDATE After posting this review, I received a call from an owner, and they said they were sorry for my troubles and assured me that this wasn't the way they wanted to do business. The owner also assisted me in getting my truck fixed, so a huge thanks and relief there.
I feel reviews are a way to hold businesses accountable for their actions (good and bad), so I'm leaving the initial story up, but with this update so people can see what transpired. I hope Advantage Auto has become a better dealer because of it (dont get me wrong, they are already a good dealer, in my opinion). I would buy from Advantage Auto again.
