I had to walk out this Garfield Medical center shortly out of surgery, started with making me sign another patients paper work.. then when they found my paper work it had the wrong surgery date. I felt human error so continued to surgery and fresh out of surgery I was in so much pain and requested every 1/2 hour for over 2 1/2 hours until I had to make a scene. Then had to demand they put my info on white board with time of medications and what my nurses are, still they couldn’t follow this procedure every day. I had my own C PAP I was using for several days and then they came in and said I couldn’t use it because it wasn’t inspected by staff which I showed them it when I walked in hospital, this tells me there is no organization there. Now the Doctor on duty was a piece of work as well, he had no knowledge of anything with his patients and ordered wrong prescription and I had to catch it, and continued trying to grand me home… so glad Surgeon was rational enough to keep me there. On the fourth day there I got an infection and Doctor on duty came in looked at it and said it was okay and am I ready to go home again, I stayed surgeon requested for me to stay for first bowel movement. That doctor said he can only send me home with 1 medication and only for 3 days and have to find a pain management doctor. I stated it will take at least 2 weeks to get approval for this and his answer was “that’s all we can do for you. I know this is not true because prior to surgery I was admitted twice and was not reaped for over a week each time, didn’t even have surgery for this Diverticulitis and was sent home with 3 medications both times with 2 weeks of 3 medications. So now I brought it to his attention he had changed the order for my pain meds so I was in pain longer just out of spite. Don’t cries are suppose to do what’s right for the patient and not make decisions based off their emotions. Do not ever go to this hospital, the staff as far as RNs and CNAs are great but the doctors and upper management don’t care about their patients, worst part it was Christmas while I had to endure this none sense!
