After purchasing a new range, refrigerator, and dishwasher from Basco, we spurgled on a handle kit to match the handles on our new refrigerator with our new range. Opening the handle kit box I found the handles didn't match the stove's, they are brushed stainless, and not chrome.
Returning the handles, the Basco salesman explained that there would be a 25% restock fee as the handles could not be re-sold as new due to me opening the box. For one, without looking at the handles how would I know the handles didn't match, and two, is there some quantum mechanic principle that says removing the tape from the end of a box, to look at an item makes it not new.
