While they had my car for an unrelated issue. They said my rear brakes were almost metal on metal and the engine belt was all worn out. Wanted like $2000 to do them all. I said why don't I hear squeaking then? Declined. Then I checked myself. Brake pads over half. Engine belt still looks new. Not sure if it's one of the mechanics or who, but someone trying to rip people off in there. Sad world we live in.

Took my new (to me) 2005 turbo diesel Passat in for an acceleration issue. Andrew and the team seemed very competent. For a reasonable charge, they took apart my turbo system to do a full assessment and find the problem. But during and in-between the two visits the car made there (a used part needed to be sourced), follow-up and communication were poor. I always had to call them past the time and day I was told it would be finished in order to get updates. I also mentioned a few other quirks and issues I was hoping to get diagnosed and an estimate for, and I never got responses on those. So, solid mechanic work, and they’re the only European mechanic I have found in the valley, but efficiency and communication were disappointing.

I contacted Autohaus for a mercedes which went well for first contact. Upon diagnosis they found 2 sensors for the brakes that were causing issues. They told me it would be about a week to get parts. After a week of not hearing I called them and they indicated they would call and find out why it was taking so long. Over a 4 week period I contacted them a number of times to find out if they got the parts for repair with essentially the same reason and never received a followup phone call . I then took to the internjet to find the parts for myself. I found them, ordered them an installed them all within a 4 day period and fixed the problem myself. Very nice people but a complete lack of follow thru in this case.
