I drove up to Big Bear Lake to hike this weekend and booked one of the Spa Suites. The room was around 13' x 24' plus balcony and spacious bathroom. I'm used to narrow hotel rooms, bumping into furniture, but my Black Forest Lodge room was enormous.
I really pushed it on the trail and was so grateful for a long soak in the Jacuzzi tub.
I love The Village in Big Bear, and the lodge is 2 minutes away by car, 14 on foot. I was able to stay late Saturday and see a U2 cover band concert in the park full of people, knowing I could run home for a jacket or whatever and be back in 5 minutes. It was very convenient.
The staff gave me some great tips. I ate my best hamburger of 2024 on their recommendation. I'm grateful to them for that.
There's a fireplace next to spa tub in #20 where I stayed and a ceiling fan, microwave, refrigerator, and king sized beg.
I'm enamored with the place. There are small cabins and family suites. Take a moment and find the perfect room.
