Dr. Skawinski was attentive, thorough, and what feels like a rare find in our healthcare system today. I had come back from a trip to Mexico with what felt like a 3rd degree burn on my right thigh. I was in a high amount of pain and the redness and blistering was getting worse. When I tried to go to urgent care the doctor just said it was sunburn. I knew this wasn’t the case as I had grown up in the sun and never had a reaction like this prior.
The following day I called Dr. Skawinski who diagnosed me with phytophotodermatitis. He asked me very specific questions of my actions and activities over the trip where he was able to narrow it down to my contact with lime and sun exposure. I was so relieved. Within the hour I had a cream prescribed to my nearest pharmacy. He texted me to check in on the progress daily.
All in all I was highly impressed with not only the diagnosis, but Dr. Skawinski’s dedication to his patients. It was clear he cares, wants to get to the root of the cause, and he doesn’t treat you like a number in the healthcare system. Will certainly be taking my future healthcare needs to BPC.
