The most majestic experience! I've wanted to see giant sequoias since I was a kid and this was the perfect place. Options were limited since we visited in February and didn't have any gear (like snow shoes) that would've been necessary at the groves near Yosemite, but Calaveras Big Trees delivered.
They got a foot and a half of snow overnight and the trail was still manageable with snow boots.

This place is Incredible! Not only are the trees beautiful but the camping and picnic areas are super nice as well. It’s quiet today because it’s snowed so we can’t drive around. They have short tails and long trails, trails for pets and trails that aren't for pets. Calaveras Big Trees State Park is definitely a place honor and protect.

I went last week for a quick walk before the storm and I had a great time. Of course, the big trees are very special and standing next to them is hard to describe. I had the pleasure to see those adorable little gray squirrels 😍
