I have lived here at Morehead Hills Senior Apartments for almost 7 years.
And in my experience as a wheelchair user, sensitivity training, respecting boundaries, privacy and personal space are much needed courses.
I have sent numerous emails. Filed numerous complaints but it doesn't seem that management understands.
It feels as though, this goes back to my being a wheelchair user, and I somehow don't know what I want or what I feel or what I need; like this is all coming from a place of ignorance rather than coming from a place of help.
It's almost as if management is trying to make me conform to what it means to be a wheelchair user. But I have never been that person. I am a very independent person and pride myself on being as such; I am self-sufficient. I am a private person.
But with a high turnover rate here, I keep running into the same problems.
