Pretty but rustic. It's only a couple of miles from the trailhead but it takes 20 minutes to get there.

Nice campsites for hikers, not so much for campers. The pit toilets were pretty full but useful. Views were not evident due to smoke from nearby forest fires. Plenty of sites were available on Sunday when arrived in the afternoon. I could see staying the night here, climbing to Lunch Counter, summit on the third day, stay one more night here after a long descent. Make certain to bring plenty of drinking water in the vehicle for this dry camp.

Nice campground with plenty of parking. There are also some outhouses. Do not attempt to get here without a four wheel drive vehicle with good ground clearance, or you’re in for a bad time.
