If you are looking for a preschool in the South San Francisco Biotech hub, please, please – PLEASE – check out The Early Years Preschool. This is truly a wonderful hidden gem of a place. The staff, teachers, children and parents provide an amazing experience for the little ones and their families. My oldest (five) has attended for two years. He went from crying every day when we dropped him off (at a previous daycare) to running into the school (without a goodbye!). This change is a credit to EVERYONE that fosters this great environment at The Early Years.
The school also thinks of the parents’ needs, providing snacks, lunch and little bedrolls for all the children (literally less things for me to forget). They give small daily reports for the children to bring home, providing a glimpse of how your child’s day went. My pre-K baby is now ready to go to kindergarten, thanks to his teachers, Elaine and Sylvia. But really, ALL the staff helped foster his love of reading and creativity. Everything he’s learned here has been incredibly rewarding and pleasantly surprising. Not only does he play well (now) with others, but he has become such a social butterfly that my spouse and I wonder where that special gene came from (not the introverted adults he calls mom and dad).
I am grateful to have found this school, which is the consensus amongst the parents and guardians I have met through The Early Years. The experience has been a truly positive one, especially with my little monster listening AND respecting his teachers and peers. I hope my youngest (two) will grow and become his own under Teacher Mary’s guidance.
