The first time I used these dry cleaners, it was a fantastic experience. The second time was an absolute disaster. They shrunk one of my jackets, such that it's now incredibly tight under my arms and the sleeves are too short. They tried to tell me it wasn't their fault. But it fit the day I brought it in and I could barely get it on 3 days later.
Then, they ruined the shoulder pads of another jacket. I had to take it to a seamstress who had to unpick the jacket and unfold the delicate lining and sew it back together. She confirmed the shoulder pads were all bunched up. Again, the Drycleaners told me there was no issue and they hadn't done anything wrong, but it was unwearable after I picked it up.
I'm incredibly, incredibly sadened by the damage to jackets worth thousands. I take them to a dry cleaner to get properly taken care of. If I'd wanted to throw them in a washing machine and completely abuse them, I could've done that home. And not paid for it, to add insult to injury.
And preempting them saying I wasn't a customer. I was. The jackets were under my husband's name, and they absolutely remember me.
