Managers are happy to stand permanently at the end of the freezers (over lane 2) watching lanes but never help unless they need to override/void something; even if there is line building up and only 1 lane open.
When I worked in a soulless department store that only cared to push their credit cards our managers helped with overflow.

I do have to give Fred Meyers credit they are one of the few that still have a great customer service. Prices are high and well I guess you get what you pay for. I go there allot of the time just for the good service. Can't say about other big stores. Update: Fred Meyer truly would be the best store around if it weren't for the high prices. It's getting harder and harder to justify going there just because of great service. Unless you're really well to do it's hard to shop there. And feel good about it anyway.

My son went grocery shopping and spent almost 30$ for protein shakes for me but bought a lot of groceries and must have accidentally left the box of protein shakes at the store. I called and explained this and they told me if he brought the receipt to customer service they would give him the shakes. Well they did not. We spend thousands of dollars as this is our neighborhood store and this makes me not want to ever go here again! They also never have good fruit or veggies either
