These were awesome displays until a huge windstorm. Someone needs to fix em. The original creator(Gilbert Godspodoor) paid alot of money to build these and he would roll over in his grave if he knew they were laying on the ground for so long. Did u know the world's largest functional weathervane is here?
Interesting story behind these structures. I drive past here regularly, and although Google thinks I've stopped, I never have. But I do know the history and purpose of the monument.
When this monument went up I had mixed feelings. Once the story behind each piece was told, the significance of the reason outweighed the "rusty" look of the structures. The mounted figures were carved from wood and have suffered from the elements, thus they have been taken down to prevent further degradation. I hope someday the tribe will be able to restore and relight the monument.
