Harry has been my piano teacher for almost 10 years. I took lessons in grade and high school and wanted to continue learning as an adult. The best way to learn music is to listen to other musicians. Harry listens to many musicians, analyzes their styles and techniques, and then shares those techniques and styles in each lesson. I've been learning mainly jazz standards and Harry introduced me to various techniques and styles applied by Kenny Baron, Bill Evans, Herbie Hancock, Mal Waldron, Hampton Hawes, Brad Mehldau, and many other renowned jazz pianists.
Each lesson is unique and challenging.
I don't think I have to note that most jazz musicians are simply awful at teaching anything to anyone. Most of them show you what they do, not how to approach music yourself.
Harry is the great exception - a jazz musician with an analytic mind that can identify the core approach to playing music, break it down into simplest terms and explain it clearly. If you want to learn how to improvise in jazz, Harry will get you there.
