Recently both my car and my wife’s car needed smog checks in order to renew our registrations. I took one of the cars to the place closest to us and it was a fine experience but nothing outstanding. I also had a feeling their prices were a bit high. Later that week when I took the other car in I put a bit more effort into searching around and found High Tech Car Care. They were quick, easy to work with and significantly more affordable. Beyond that they took the time to answer some questions I had about the flex fuel I’ve seen becoming more available in Simi Valley.
Fast forward a few months and it was time for me to get an oil change. I’ve always taken my car to the dealership but at over 100,000 miles on it it’s well out of warrantee and the dealer has always been both hard to make an appointment with and expensive. On a hunch I called High Tech. Turns out they are a first come first serve business and I was able to get in the next day. They changed my oil for literally half the price! Beyond that they were, once again, very professional and personable and took the time to answer my questions about hybrids this time. Even better, while waiting for my car I was able to witness their interactions with a number of customers; unfailingly they were polite, professional and knowledgeable with all of them. I’m actually hesitant to write this recommendation as I already have a possessive desire to keep them a secret. But excellent local companies in Simi deserve at least a shout out and I’m happy to say High Tech was excellent.
