My parents stayed here during their visit here at Lewis-McChord. Tons of ants and there was broken glass at their campsite. It was affordable and a place to leave their camper while they stayed at our house on base. It was pretty quiet while we stopped by for a few hours a couple days so my parents could work on their rv a little. The play ground I saw needs cleaned up and worked on... there was a trash can lid hooked up to the swing set I didn't understand the purpose of that. My parents didn't have any issues with hookups or anything. I think overall it was safe. Just needs more attention to cleanup and maybe something to help with insects because their dachshunds were being crawled over with thousands of ants when you tied them out for outside time. It really was nice otherwise.

This campground has serious management issues. There is no accountability concerning the office staff and the camp hosts. Most grills and fire pits are left dirty and there are no crews verifying cleanup before the next guest. The grounds are not mowed regularly. All of the washing machines are currently broken, and when working they break soon after. The bathrooms are not cleaned daily and never on weekends. The men’s shower drains are clogged. The host has no interaction with guests and is hardly around. When asked what the camp host duties are, the staff either doesn’t know or won’t comment. The Host commented that their duties are almost nothing for a free permanent camping spot. The facilities site open board is not updated on the weekend for late arrivals and the host didn’t care. Many wonder what exactly the host does. There are times when people living out of cars and pickups literally use this facility as a hold up. Cops have even been called on strange activities from guests watching children playing on the grounds. The main MWR office is either unaware of the issues or turns a blind eye because of the profit margin this facility generates. There is zero transparency and honesty from this facility. The two stars are only due to the local and spacing of sites.

A lot quieter than Fort Lewis with the jet skis and loud racing speedboats with no mufflers (I.e. civilian side of lake, come moore in front of pier blasting their music and dance). Just 1 problem with someone stealing my underwear out of dryer-3 pairs. WTH. Add that people drive the wrong way on the one way-don’t read signs. Think your big rig has to move for them on narrow road-could use better signage.
