A good stop off to take the kids, have a quick workout, picnic or lawn sports! Imperial Park is very nicely landscaped and uncrowded park near the far east end of Anaheim and Imperial Highway. The famous namesake route passes thru Los Angeles to and from the west end of Imperial Highway at the ocean! While the name is well known, the park may be overlooked, both physically and figuratively, as there’s residences, schools and busy roads in the surrounding area, obscured by hedges, walls and hillsides. There’s paved pathways good for a quick stroll with access to a view-spot from the top of the park! Yorba Linda can be seen to the north, as well as a portion of the Imperial Highway overpass at the 91. The large volume of traffic along the Imperial Highway side seems oblivious to the parking lot, where I’ve almost always found an available space, if not for the neighboring school drops and pickups of students. I’m more apt to see park users from the local neighborhoods, walking, biking and skating in. Additional entrances and parking are available alongside S Scout Trail, off of Nohl Ranch Road. The park would make an ideal rest spot for commuters, tho lacks public restrooms. In any event, park goers may have to use the facilities of the nearby grocery stores or the Canyon Hills Library. Hiking the paved pathways can be ok for a very short walk. There’s additional trails are below the hill, with obscure corridor pathways, accessible from S Scout Trail by E Camino Pinzon.
