I just want to express how over joyed I am to be able to say that I have been a part of something huge here in the state that I love so much! Most of my adult life I have shadowed my now deceased mother. Since migrating from the south in the 1960s she dedicated herself to each community she resided in, whether it was receiving a certificate for the upkeep of her yard in the low in- come housing projects she lived in; to assisting in a neighborhood program that served 3 hot meals to the needy 7 days a week. My mother designed laminated informational flyers with as many resources she could fit, and stood out rain or shine passing them out for over 10 years. Her selfless heart is what I strived to mimick. The feeling I get when I make someone else smile is all that I want in life and forever want to experience. I recently had the pleasure of hosting The United Way of Seattle's Volunteers while they spent 4 hours on the beautiful property I manage meeting with residents one on one assisting with the application process in order to receive assistance with past due rent. I've been in the presence of others in the past that would just direct some of the needy to various websites and showed a very low lack of care and compassion. These wonderful United Way workers smiled; laughed with Children; brought toys; and snacks while they met with Adults. They were patient, took their time processing new applications and updating the previously applied. I've always wanted to do my part somehow in preventing homelessness, feeding and clothing the needy but could not organize a group of like minded in order to fulfill this dream of mine. To have them physically dedicate their time at my workplace and allow me to host and be a part of this; words could never explain how great this felt. Washingtonians pulling together offering various skills, tools and resources, just might put a dent in the very high Homeless rate one step and person at a time. On behalf of the Linden Flats residents, thank you Indigo Real Estate and Unite Way of Seattle. You are truly appreciated.
Poor Management, Infested with Cockroaches.
My experience at Solana Apartments (managed by Indigo) was a complete nightmare. The prices they charge are outrageous for what you get. The place is filthy and poorly maintained. To make matters worse, there is a severe cockroach infestation throughout the complex. The management is unresponsive and unprofessional, ignoring maintenance requests and leaving tenants to deal with crumbling apartments. Save yourself the headache and find a better place to live.
