I attempted to get a haircut as a walk-in. The barbershop is at the end of a high end clothing store “Button Down”. While the people at the barbershop might be fine, I never even got to talk to them. As soon as I walked into the clothing store a person working there threateningly and loudly asked “Sir, are you ok?”. Not quite the most welcoming greeting. I assumed I was profiled as a brown man in a dark hoodie with scruffy hair (hence why I was getting a hair cut) and he was worried I was there to shop lift. I replied “yes” and kept looking around trying to find the barbershop. Eventually I did find the barbershop but it had only one person that was in the middle of a cut, so I didn’t bother them. The atmosphere of the clothing shop was so unwelcoming that I just turned around and left.
I’m leaving this review in hopes that “James” and “Button down” find a friendlier way of welcoming people that look like they might need a haircut, or that “James” finds a more suitable location altogether.
