100% agree with latest one star review. And I can vouch I walked out because of direct communication with the manager on duty at the fabric counter. The lady working under her was several times as professional, by the way. Their fabric shelves are appropriately named disheveled. They had several fabrics in the wrong section of 70% off, when they were 25% off. The employee helping me asked her manager if she would honor the 70% off since it was in the wrong location and she said yes. Since they were busy the same manager began cutting it for me and the employee told her I was the one they had discussed 70% off. Before totally finishing she found its actual price (which had already been found and still agreed to do the 70% off since it was in the wrong place), but because she found the price herself, she would not honor what she agreed to. I asked if she wouldn’t be honoring it and she said “No,” wasting my time completely. I left then went back to let her know that going back on what she agreed to was unprofessional. She gaslighted me and said “Thank you.” I said “That’s not an answer.” She said “Thank you” again, as a tort back, so I simply responded again “It’s still not an answer,” and began to walk away. So she took that moment to yell, “You’re not my mother!” I walked back and said “Seriously? What is your name. I’ll be contacting corporate.” To which she said “That doesn’t matter.”
So, if it in fact doesn’t matter that customers and the organization of the store can be mistreated all the way to the manager, the state of this Joann’s is fully explained.
I agree that the Michael’s is lovely and respectful, so obviously I’ll go there since it’s around the corner, literally. As for the corporate call they were closed for the day but I’ll be trying again soon.
The store is located inside the Crossroads Mall. First impression there is a great customer service. Because of employees availability and willingness to help, we did not have to search for the products for a long time.
