This one feels like an upgraded teriyaki eatery. Not to the level of a good Japanese restaurant. First of all, food wasn’t bad. The bento box was decent. The bibimbap was ok too. But the miso soup was a joke. We’ve never seen so plain miso soup. It was basically hot water with a bit miso. No tofu, no green onions. Well, to be fair, it was free. So you get what you pay for 😳. We did not understand why they had chairs stacked on top of the counter. It feels like a part of the restaurant was out of business. We arrived around 5pm for early dinner. They were not busy. But the service definitely lacked the traditional Japanese spirit. It was not courteous. And they serviced us the bill far before we finished our meal. It didn’t make us feel good.
Each time I have come the food is gorgeously plated, the sushi presented as a beautiful collage of colors, each piece delicately crafted and placed with precision. Each roll a balance of sweet and savory, crunchy and tender. On one occasion, in lieu of a birthday cake, I ordered mango sushi as desert and was bestowed a candle.
The atmosphere is amazing, and the staff and chef are incredibly friendly and attentive. Highly recommend eating here!
