I’ve supported families in their early years in pdx and Vancouver for over 10yrs now and have had the pleasure of learning, listening and interacting with a wide variety of pediatricians and families utilizing their care. When I had my own baby I thought I would go more of a delayed vaccine, ND vs MD route, less vs more approach. We’d previously hired a smaller, reputable office in SE Portland as we wanted individualized care. The smaller office was not a fit due to staffing and systems issues and that’s when we found metro pediatrics. Our daughter was born with some health complications and we wanted to be able to have a very responsive and easy to access provider. We found metro pediatrics to be that for us. Our daughter sees Dr. Hyde who we LOVE. She’s personable and attentive to all of our needs, questions and circumstances. She takes the amount of time we need without us feeling rushed. Our conversations are collaborative and backed by evidence. I feel like I can ask hard questions and she is open to appropriate discourse if we ask for alternatives. Her schedule can be pretty busy, so we’ve occasionally seen Sarah Matney in the interim and also really enjoyed her. Her MA Jess is also a family favorite. Front desk staff are helpful, mychart messages are returned quickly, after hours advice nurse is easy to access and call back fast, appts are pretty easy to book and they do a good job following up on any concerns. Oh and we’re a queer couple and feel like they’re decently inclusive. We have had one interaction with a a provider we didn’t love for a last minute appt, but I don’t expect to love everyone at a clinic that big and it didn’t detour me at all from being there. I just noted that wasn’t the provider for us.

Our PA Laura Schley was wonderful, caring, and genuinely concerned about my baby's well-being. Her warm demeanor and attentive care made us feel valued and well-supported. She took the time to thoroughly explain everything and answered all of our questions patiently. We left feeling reassured and confident in our baby's care. Thank you so much Laura! First time parent and went for a first wellness visit. Very impressed so far. They got us an appointment post birth quickly, upon arrival staff was friendly. Getting to know the doctor was wonderful. Excited to continue our family’s journey here.
