I've been a customer at Mono Way laundromat for about a year now. We moved here from the bay area and I had to try out several laundromats before I found my happy laundry place.
My first impression of this location wasn't great due to the location. It seemed super creepy at first.
However it's quickly become my favorite laundromat. I've tried the few others around Sonora and haven't gone back to them.
I have become a faithful customer of Mono Village Laundromat for several reasons.
First of all I absolutely adore the owner. He is so kind and helpful. He's removed laundry that folks have left unattended so that I can use the big washers. He's super attentive. Very kind. And makes me feel welcomed. He's certainly not touchy and has never made me feel uncomfortable ever (as commented by another reviewer).
Large wahsers! I have a family of 8 so I always have a Yukon XL full of laundry when I arrive. I always show up in the evenings because it's the least busy. I always need to two XL washers and I've never had to wait or go without using them due to it being overly busy.
It's very secure! The owner is always around and he has cameras. The creep factor got to me until I realized he's always around keeping an eye out. He's even comes out from his office when any suspicious folks come strolling in 👍. This keeps me feeling super safe.
The soda machine is always stocked. Same with the detergents, bags, etc. I've forgotten to grab my soap and bags and didn't realize until after I had arrived so this has been a lifesaver!
All of the machines are in good condition and kept up very well. The XL washers that I use are the newest equipment in the place which is fantastic. I do use the smaller washers for my families socks and they are nice too. And sometimes especially in the evenings you can find a FREE to use washer or two! SO AMAZING!!!
The bathroom is clean and always open. Huge props for that.
You can also roll the laundry baskets out to your car which is a huge plus! The Twain Harte laundromat won't allow the carts to leave to indoor area. With the amount of laundry I have to pack in and out, this is a huge MUST if I'm going to be a regular customer.
The hours are perfect for my needs. I usually can't get out to do laundry until after my family has dinner. With a 10pm closing I can easily get in by 7 or 8 pm and be finished up by 10pm. Also the owner doesn't try to hurry anyone to get out just so he can go home.
I'm a smoker so I haven't noticed the smell of smoke in the place. I always go out to my car to smoke but I have seen people smoking on the bench outside. Personally it doesn't bother me a bit. To each their own.
Overall I'm super pleased with the Mono Village Laundromat. I'll remain a regular here as long as it's open for business.
