I was referred to Courtney at PHRC by Kaiser for pelvic floor pt. Courtney is knowledgeable and the treatment she has been giving me seems to be working. She makes me feel comfortable with the treatments and during the visits. She is friendly and helps pass the treatment time talking.
The location is easy to get to. It is bright and efficient. They have a receptionist who is polite and professional. They send me out appointment reminders as well as appointment confirmations.

My greatest concern when finding a pelvic floor physical therapist after sustaining an injury to my pelvic floor a couple months ago, was finding a pt that was not only well-versed in pelvic floor dysfunction and internal work, but one who also made me feel comfortable and with whom I could connect. This was very important to me considering the nature of my injury; I was very scared and quite sensitive about the state of my pelvic health. However, I had previously discovered PHRC on YouTube and was excited to find they had clinics nearby where I lived. They were the first PF clinic I called and I am so very lucky to have been matched with Melinda Fontaine at PHRC Walnut Creek. I walked into the clinic terrified for my initial evaluation as I have experienced quite a bit of medical trauma over the course of the last eight months dealing with my pelvic health issues; I didn’t quite know what to expect but by the end of my evaluation, for the first time in months I felt safe, I felt heard, I had a better understanding of what my issues were, I received a comprehensive treatment plan and ultimately I felt hopeful for recovery in a way I hadn’t before due to past experiences with doctors, etc. Since I have been in treatment with Melinda, not only has she been extremely empathetic and sensitive to my situation; she is very knowledgeable about pelvic floor anatomy and how it functions. She’s also willing to try various techniques for pelvic floor release and mobilization; she’s open to suggestions and theories from her patients point of view of their pelvic health concerns/issues, and she is an excellent teacher. I ask her a million and one questions at every appointment and she answers all of them to the best of her ability. She is down to earth, upbeat, very patient, fun to talk with and an excellent pt who makes sure her patients feel heard (I can’t stress this enough), safe, comfortable and in control of their treatment and what goes on during their sessions. I always leave the clinic feeling better physically, mentally and emotionally. My experience at PHRC this far has been extremely therapeutic. I got really lucky finding Melinda my first try while looking for a pfpt. Working with her really helped kickstart my recovery journey, and she has also helped me with my mental and emotional state as well. I don’t feel as scared, worried, catastrophic or anxious as I had before I started my treatment at PHRC. I plan to continue going here until I’ve reached my recovery goals. I can’t say enough good things about my pt and the very friendly staff at this clinic.

I’ve had the opportunity to work with Melinda and she is AMAZING! She makes you feel very safe, comfortable and understood. Melinda is very educated and has helped me learn so many new things about my body. I feel that Melinda is very committed to her work and to helping her patients achieve their goals. I would highly recommend.
