DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!!! WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! You know construction is stressful enough. Do NOT add to your stress by renting from this company you will regret it!! Here is my experience and you can make your own judgement.
We rented a skip loader to be delivered Sunday. They dropped of a skip with BALD TIRES... i mean BALD! our operator was very hesitant to even use the machine, but seeing as we had ALREADY PAID THE CREW SEVERAL HUNDRED FOR THE DAY we felt our only option was to proceed with the shady equipment. THEN AFTER ONLY A COUPLE HOURS....THE DIESEL LINE CAME OFF!! LEAKING DIESEL ALL OVER OUR PROPERTY AND DRIVEWAY. we had to stop working and sent the crew home. This means we had to EAT THE COST OF SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLARS FOR THE CREW FOR THE DAY SINCE THE EQUIPMENT DIDN'T WORK. we called Eagle and notified them of the diesel leak and also of the tires. They apologized but NEVER REPLACED THE TRACTOR OR OFFERED ANY SORT OF COMPENSATION FOR THE SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLARS LOST AS A RESULT OF NEGLECTED EQUIPMENT ( not to mention the gas that was lost and the driveway stains), instead they came out and quickly fixed it the next day.
As if things weren't bad enough, as a result of the bald tires the OPERATOR KEPT SLIDING AROUND LOSING TRACTION AND COSTING TIME AND DRAGGING OUT THE PROJECT. Each day we called and told them we weren't finished since the tires were bald and THEY STILL NEVER OFFERED TO REPLACE IT.
When we finally were finished and they came to pick it up EVEN THE EMPLOYEE WHO PICKED IT UP AGREED IT WAS BAD AND ADMITTED HE WAS SURPRISED THEY RENTED IT OUT!! FURTHERMORE, He said THAT THEY USUALLY FIX IT WHEN ITS NOT RENTED BUT MORE THAN LIKELY MAINTENANCE WAS NEGLECTED SINCE THEY WANTED TO KEEP IT RENTED AND DIDN'T WANT TO LOSE BUSINESS WHILE FIXING IT.
This only confirmed in to us that a BIG MISTAKE HAD BEEN MADE! What a learning lesson of TIME AND MONEY LOST.
Being a business owner myself I DECIDED TO CALL AND SPEAK WITH THE OWNER (assuming that perhaps the employees didn't convey the issues or have authority to remedy the issue or compensate the mistake.)
TO MY SURPRISE THE OWNER OFFERED NO REMEDY AND HAD A BLATANT DISREGARD FOR THE MONEY IT COST US; from the diesel leak and lost day wages of the crew, the time lost as a result of the bald tires, the stained driveway, the loss of gas etc! WE PAID FOR OVER A WEEK AND HE OFFERED...NOTHING!
INSTEAD he was insistent that they had apologized and that was enough without remedy. Then he had the ordasity to suggest that he was being generous for "not charging us" for the flat bald tire that was caused when he operator nearly SLID halfway down a hill until a rock stopped him enabling him to gain traction and consequently flattening the tire... HE COULD HAVE LOST HIS LIFE.
When we spoke with him we said we were planning to rent more equipment to complete other projects. We were simply letting him know he had opportunity to keep our business as we had more work to do. OUR PLAN WAS TO KEEP RENTING WITH THEM but after what happened we considering elsewhere; obviously. THEN HE HAD THE NERVE to SUGGEST MY HUSBAND WAS JUST TRYING TO GET FREE EQUIPMENT RENTALS. TWISTING OUR WORDS!! THEN ALSO SAID WE HAD IT FOR A WEEK SO THAT WAS PROOF IT WAS GOOD ENOUGH and DISMISSED THE FACT IT WAS A RESULT OF NEGLECTED EQUIPMENT THAT WAS UNABLE TO GET THE JOB DONE IN A TIMELY MANNER! AGAIN OFFERING NO REMEDY OTHER THAN AN INSINCERE APOLOGY.
SO TO RECAP: Renting from Eagle: GREAT DEAL OF STRESS, NEGLECTED EQUIPMENT WAS UNABLE TO GET THE JOB DONE ON TIME COST THOUSANDS IN DAY WAGES FOR LABOR CREW DUE TO NEGLECTED EQUIPMENT BALD TIRES WERE UNSAFE NEARLY HARMING OPERATOR
WOW..... I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH..... DO NOT RENT FROM THEM
LIVE AND LEARN HIND SIGHT IS 20/20 I look Back and Realize I should have sent it all back and RENTED FROM SOMEONE ELSE.
UPDATE:2 stars: About an hour after getting off the phone and letting him know we would leave this review the OWNER CALLED BACK TO SAY HE WOULD TAKE $100 OFF OUR BILL.... not much but it does help.
